Turning Broken Glass into Coastal Treasure – How I Tumble My Own Colored Glass for You
Hi, I’m Becky—owner of Bec Sue Jewelry Shop—and when I’m not making gemstone jewelry, you’ll probably find me by the ocean or near my tumbler working magic on old glass. One of my favorite parts of my business (besides jewelry!) is transforming colored glassware into beautiful, soft-edged tumbled glass that’s perfect for crafting and decorating.
It all starts with broken or recycled colored glass—think blues, greens, purples, and pinks from old bottles, vases, and dishware. I place the pieces into my rock tumbler with water and grit, and after days of tumbling, they come out looking like smooth sea glass you’d find after a peaceful morning beach walk. Every batch is unique, and no two pieces are the same.
Tumbled glass is so versatile—here’s what you can make with it:
-
Beachy mosaics for frames, mirrors, or trays
-
Vase and bowl fillers to add color to your décor
-
DIY garden art or fairy gardens
-
Custom jewelry by wire-wrapping unique shapes
-
Ornaments, suncatchers, or wind chimes that catch the light beautifully
If you love coastal vibes, eco-friendly crafts, or just want to create something beautiful, my tumbled glass is the perfect starting point.
